Early life

He had little to no access to phones or the internet when he was a child. Joseph was raised in a household with five brothers and three sisters. Joseph saw the West Indies cricket team’s opening bowlers Curtly Ambrose and Courtney Walsh’s highlights as a child and tried to emulate them in his tape ball games around the village. He began bowling in Baracara using fruits like lemons, limes, guavas, and peaches combined with a tape ball; this was known as “jungle-land cricket.” He also used balls formed from melted plastic bottles for drills.
