Who is Sunil Philip Narine?
Sunil Philip Narine is a Trinidadian cricket player who played internationally for the West Indies. He debuted in a Test match in June 2012 and in One Day Internationals (ODIs) in December 2011. He is bowling all-rounder. He bats left-handed and bowls off-spin most of the time. One of the best bowlers in limited overs, Narine was a member of the West Indies side that won the 2012 T20 World Cup. In the championship match, he grabbed Lasith Malinga’s final wicket. He declared his retirement from international cricket in November 2023. Narine is a mystery bowler, right from the start of the IPL, he plays for Kolkata Knight Riders. Recently, he smashed his first 100 in IPL against Rajasthan Royals.

Domestic Career
Sunil Narine, a spin bowler from Trinidad and Tobago, made his debut in first-class cricket in February 2009. He played his first T20 match in January 2011, winning the Caribbean Twenty20. Narine was a leading wicket-taker in the competition, with 15 scalps. In 2012, he was bought by the Kolkata Knight Riders for $700,000 to play in the Indian Premier League. In 2018, he was named as one of the ten marquee players for the Global T20 Canada cricket tournament. In the 2018 Indian Premier League, he became the most valuable player. Narine played in his 100th match in the IPL In March 2019. In June 2019, he was selected to play for the Montreal Tigers in the 2019 Global T20 Canada tournament. In February 2021, he played in his 100th List A match. In April 2022, he was bought by the Oval Invincibles for the 2022 season of The Hundred in England. On 29 March 2024, he became the fourth player overall to play 500 T20 matches, during the 2024 Indian Premier League. He also became the first spinner and the first player from KKR to achieve the feat. He smashed an IPL Century for KKR in IPL 2024.
International Career
In 2011, Narine made his One Day International debut for the West Indies against India, taking wickets of Virat Kohli and Ravichandran Ashwin. He played in three of T&T’s six matches in February 2012, taking 31 wickets at an average of 9.61. After an injury to fast bowler Kemar Roach, Narine was drafted into the West Indies squad for the third and final Test against England in June 2012. He made his Test debut on 10 June 2012, picking five wickets for 28 runs. He was adjudged the Man of the Match in his second Test. Narine topped the ICC Twenty20 rankings with 784 points in 2014, becoming the only bowler to bowl a maiden in a Super Over in a Twenty20 match. In his whole career many times he has been victim of illegal bowling action.
