Early life
Cameron Green was born on 2 June 1999 at Subacio, Western Australia.
Career
Green began playing cricket at the age of 10 and made his first-grade debut at 16. He made his first-class debut for Western Australia in the 2016-17 Sheffield Shield season and made his Twenty20 debut for the Perth Scorchers in the 2018-19 Big Bash League season. After a series of injuries, Green focused on improving his batting, scoring 87* and 121* against Queensland in the 2019-20 Sheffield Shield season. In 2020, he was named in Australia’s squad for limited overs matches against India and Test squads. In 2022, he made his T20I debut against Pakistan and scored two half-centuries in the series. He was added to the Australian squad for the 2022 T20 World Cup as an injury replacement. In December 2022, Green made his maiden five-wicket haul in Test cricket. He was bought by Mumbai Indians for INR 17.5 crore in the IPL 2023 auction, making him the second most expensive overseas player in IPL auction history and most expensive Australian player. Green made his maiden Test century in Ahmedabad and was included in Australia’s squad for the 2023 ODI World Cup. After falling out of favour during the 2023 Ashes, he was reintroduced to the squad and scored his second Test century against New Zealand in February 2024. Before IPL 2024 , Royal Challengers Bengaluru traded him from Mumbai Indians.
