Varun Grover was born and raised in Sundernagar, Dehradun, and later shifted to Lucknow in his adolescent years. Since childhood, Grover has been interested in writing. He used to write poetry and theatre plays.

In 2004, Varun Grover shifted to Mumbai to achieve his dream of becoming a writer.
