He has been general secretary of the city BJP for over 3 years. Mukesh Dalal hails from Modh Vanik community. He is former chairman of The Surat Peoples Cooperative Bank Ltd. Dalal is considered close to Gujarat BJP chief and Navsari MP CR Patil. He is active in BJP since 1981. He was a councilor in SMC for three terms from Adajan-Pal-Palanpor area during 2005 to 2020.
