AP GIS 2023: Setting Ripple Effect And New Benchmarks in Investment and Industrial Growth

Visakhapatnam, November 2025 — The Andhra Pradesh Global Investors Summit (APGIS)
2023, held in Visakhapatnam on March 3-4, 2023, has emerged as the largest verified
investment milestone in the state’s history, marking a transformative chapter under the
leadership of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP). The summit delivered an unprecedented Rs.
13.05 lakh crore in committed investments across 352 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs),
projecting approximately 6 lakh direct and indirect jobs, thereby redefining Andhra Pradesh’s
industrial landscape.

Conceived and executed entirely by the Government of Andhra Pradesh, APGIS 2023 stood
apart from typical investor events through its institutional design focused on verifiable deal
closures rather than mere intentions. The event was backed by clear policy alignment with state
industrial frameworks such as the Industrial Development Policy 2020-23 and Renewable
Energy Export Policy 2020, facilitating seamless integration of incentives, land availability, and
single-window clearances.

The summit attracted over 14,000 delegates from 40 countries, including some of India’s most
prominent industrial leaders such as Mukesh Ambani (Reliance Industries), Karan Adani (Adani
Ports), Sajjan Jindal (JSW Group), and top global business delegations from Japan, UAE,
Singapore, the UK, the USA, and Saudi Arabia, signaling robust investor confidence.
Key highlights of APGIS 2023 include:

  • Rs. 8.25 lakh crore in renewable energy projects, cementing Andhra Pradesh as India’s
renewable energy and green hydrogen hub.
  • Major commitments in manufacturing, logistics, pharmaceuticals, IT, and life sciences, driving a
    diversified and sustainable industrial ecosystem.
  • Institutionalized monitoring of projects with a real-time tracking dashboard ensuring effective
    follow-through and project grounding.
  • Strategic focus on capital-intensive, long-term sectors aligned with the state’s comparative
advantages in coastline access, power infrastructure, and skilled labor.

Unlike national-level forums such as the upcoming CII Partnership Summit 2025, APGIS 2023
was uniquely state-owned and focused on concrete investment outcomes for Andhra Pradesh.

Verified investments from APGIS 2023 have already resulted in landmark projects like NTPC’s
Green Hydrogen Hub and JSW’s green steel plant moving into execution phases.

The event’s success reflects Andhra Pradesh’s ability to build investor trust through robust
governance, policy continuity, and administrative competence. The state remains a prime
destination for industrial growth and sustainable development in India. Sheeba Gollapalli, G100
Andhra Pradesh Leadership Chair appreciates Shri Jagan Mohan Reddy for his vision & steps
put in for Andhra Pradesh. The developments we see now are the ripples of his governance.
