Who is Lungisani Ngidi?

Atishi Marlena Singh is an Indian politician and educator from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). She is a Rhodes Scholar and an alumna of St. Stephen’s College, Delhi and Oxford University. Atishi has served as an advisor to the Delhi Deputy CM on education reforms. She contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from East Delhi but lost. In 2020, she won the Kalkaji assembly seat and recently became a Cabinet Minister in the Delhi government, handling key portfolios like Education and Public Works Department.

Early life

Lungisani Ngidi had a modest upbringing in Durban. He attended Hilton College on a scholarship, where he initially played rugby before shifting his focus to cricket. His mother worked as a domestic worker, while his father was a maintenance worker at a local school.


Lungisani Ngidi made an instant impact on his Test debut in 2018, taking 6/39 against India to become the 23rd South African to take a five-wicket haul on debut. He has represented South Africa in all formats, taking over 50 wickets in Tests and ODIs each. Lungisani Ngidi has been a key part of South Africa’s pace attack and has also played in the IPL for franchises like Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals. In 2020, he won South Africa’s ODI and T20I Cricketer of the Year awards for his impressive performances.


Lungisani Ngidi attended Hilton College School on a scholarship, where he initially focused on rugby before shifting to cricket. After graduating from Hilton, he enrolled for a Bachelor of Social Sciences degree in Industrial Sociology at the University of Pretoria.
