Early life
Lin Laishram was born and brought up in Imphal, Manipur. Since childhood, she has never thought of becoming an actor.
Career
Lin Laishram never thought of pursuing a career in acting, as such professions were not taken seriously in her hometown. Lin got the chance to appear in the industry when a magazine agency was looking for a girl with long hair, and they selected her for a photo shoot for L’Oréal Magzine. Later, she got a call from an elite modelling agency that asked her to prepare a portfolio in 2007. Later in 2008, she appeared in the beauty pageant and became the first runner-up. In 2006, Lin Laishram moved to New York and participated in various Fashion Week’s. In 2010, she became a fashion and print model there.
In 2011, she joined the theatre groups Motley by Naseeruddin Shah, Pravah Theatre Lab by Neeraj Kabi and Rangbaaz. In 2012, Lin Laishram participated in the television reality show Kingfisher Calendar Girl and became the first Manipuri model to wear a swimsuit on national television. Lin Laishram then appeared in many films, such as Bem in Mary Kom, Umrika, Rangoon, Qaidi Band, and Axone. She has also appeared in many short films, including We Are Mahindra and Ave Maria.

Lin Laishram has completed her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology at Sophia College, Mumbai. Lin has also taken training in archery at Tata Archery Academy. Later, Lin took an acting course at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York.
