He hails from a prominent film family, being the son of veteran actor Feroz Khan and the nephew of legendary actor Sanjay Khan. While Fardeen Khan enjoyed success in his early career, his later years saw a decline in film offers. He took a hiatus from acting and was occasionally seen in supporting roles. Now after so many years, he is making his comeback with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Heeramandi. The web series will start streaming from 1 May on Netflix.

Early life
Fardeen Khan was born on 8 March 1974 in Mumbai. He is the son of Bollywood actor, director, and producer Feroz Khan. Through his father, he is of mixed Pashtun and Persian descent, while his mother is Sindhi. Khan is the nephew of actors Sanjay Khan and Akbar Khan and the cousin of fashion designer Suzanne Khan and actor Zayed Khan.
Career
In 1998, Fardeen Khan made his acting debut with Prem Aggan, earning the Filmfare Best Debut Award. He then starred in the survival thriller Jungle in 2000. His career took a turning point in 2001 with Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya, which received critical recognition. In May 2001, Khan was arrested for attempting to buy cocaine. Khan’s other films of the year were Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega and Hum Ho Gaye Aapke, both box office failures. In 2002, Khan had three releases: Kitne Door Kitne Paas, Kuch Tum Kaho Kuch Hum Kahein, and Om Jai Jagadish. In 2003, Khushi and Janasheen failed at the box office, but Khan’s performance was praised by Bollywood Hungama. Bhoot was his only successful film that year.Khan received critical acclaim for his roles in Dev and Fida, where he played a misguided law graduate and a hacker and thief. No Entry became his career’s highest grosser in 2005, and he went on to appear in Heyy Babyy (2007), Life Partner (2009), and All the Best: Fun Begins (2009). In 2010, after his last starring role, Khan took a hiatus from the movie business to focus on his family. In December 2020, speculation arose that he may be planning a comeback to acting after being spotted outside Mukesh Chhabra’s office. Chhabra confirmed that they were exploring opportunities and would begin working on a new project in 2021.Khan’s comeback was confirmed when he announced joining the cast of Heeramandi. The web series will stream from 1 May 2024. He is also doing a film called Visfot.
Education
After graduating in business management from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Khan returned to India to pursue a career in film and trained in acting at the Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Institute.

Fardeen was married to Natasha Madhvani, daughter of actress Mumtaz. The couple has a daughter and a son. The couple filed for divorce in July 2023.
